Who is Ge'NeL?

Ge'NeL Media, LLC is a one-woman operation. I'm Kiesha. And content is what I'm great at.

Ge'NeL means "geeky, nerdy, lady. It's who I am. I grew reading books considered advanced for my age group, writing short stories, poems, letters to my representatives, playing video games and tinkering with computers, phones and all manner of gadgets. Naturally, helping people communicate their message via exceptional, engaging content would be my calling.

Ge'NeL Media is a woman-owned and operated small business startup that's passionate about helping people communicate better. At Ge'NeL we know the importance of having exceptional content to help turn visitors into customers. We have particular experience in tech, gaming, social justice and health and fitness industries.

In addition to contract content, I own and operate Ge'NeL Magazine, a woman-centric, gaming and geek culture website.

Ge'NeL Works Remotely for You

I work remotely. It allows me to be flexible and work with people from all over. Many of the companies I work with are on the West Coast, while I reside in the Southeast. Vacations mean I can continue to create exceptional content while overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Working remotely means I don't have to leave my place of work when the clock stops. I don't have to beg my boss for the proper tools needed to complete a project; I get the tools and get to work--for you.

Staying organized and being completely transparent while working remotely has never been easier! Here are a few tools.

  • Airtable - allows me to keep clients and assignments organized and prioritized.

  • Harvest - for time-tracking.

  • Bill.com - contracts, monthly subscriptions for content packages, invoices and payments.

  • Google Docs - to write, edit, share, and communicate with clients.

  • Adobe Creative Cloud - to create graphics, edit photos and select royalty free stock photos.

  • Alexa Pro - SEO analysis, keyword research, backlink check.

Although I've been years creating marketing and business communication content while working as an Army contractor, when I decided to pursue writing for a career, I had no idea how to get started or how to find clients. So I began by signing up with Upwork.

“Kiesha is a pleasure to work with. If I could rate Kiesha's work higher than 5, I definitely would.”
